Durable medical equipment is an important tool for better managing MS symptoms, including energy conservation. A variety of services are available through the Colorado Chapter to assist you with obtaining the correct medical equipment for your needs:
- Information and Referral regarding medical equipment: Call the MS Resource Line to speak with a skilled staff person for more information about equipment. Options can be explored for assessment of your needs and resources for obtaining the optimal equipment to meet your specific needs. Call 1-800-FIGHT MS.
- Equipment Loan Closet: In the Denver metro area and in Larimer county, short- term loan of medical equipment can be assessed, based on current availability of specific items. These items can include: wheelchairs, walkers, electric scooters, forearm crutches, bath benches, etc. All loans require a physician’s prescription and documentation that current medical insurance isn’t available to cover this item.
- Limited Financial Assistance: For those clients who qualify for financial assistance, a limited amount of funding may be available to assist with the purchase of durable medical equipment. Call any of the Chapter’s four offices for more information.
